- Lead and manage a team of engineers to design, develop and maintain high-performance observability tools and solutions.
- Build and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Identify and implement best practices and processes for efficient and effective development and delivery of observability solutions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and ensure that the observability platform meets their needs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in observability platforms, and apply that knowledge to enhance our platform.
- Ensure the observability platform meets the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate the observability platform with other systems and applications.
- Manage and prioritize the team's workload, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of projects.
- Mentor and provide guidance to team members, promoting their growth and development.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, to provide updates on the observability platform's progress and impact.
- Proactively identify and address any technical issues or roadblocks that may arise during the development and maintenance of the observability platform.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards for software development.
- Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of the observability platform, and take necessary actions to improve its effectiveness.
- Represent Visa and the observability platform at industry events and conferences, showcasing our innovation and thought leadership in the field.
Extensive Experience In Platform Engineering And Observability Tools: The Senior Director Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Platform Engineering, With A Deep Understanding Of Observability Tools Such As Splunk, Datadog, And Prometheus.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills: This Role Will Involve Leading A Team Of Engineers, So The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Mentoring Technical Teams.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Cloud Technologies: The Senior Director Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Cloud Platforms Such As Aws, Azure, And Google Cloud, And Be Able To Design And Implement Observability Solutions In These Environments.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: As A Senior Leader, The Candidate Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Cross-Functional Teams And Stakeholders, And Collaborate With Them To Drive The Success Of The Observability Platform.
