Job Description

Develop and update standard EMI test procedures using the Shipboard Electromagnetic Compatibility Improvement Program (SEMCIP) Technical Assistance Network and E3 website applications(s). Use Navy Data Environment (NDE)/Afloat Master Planning System (AMPS) database, along with other pertinent documentation, to determine scheduled installations or changes in ships’ configuration that will impact Ship EMC Certification. Investigate, analyze, evaluate, test, document and develop solutions to Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) problems among combat systems, communications systems, radar systems, electronic warfare systems, navigation systems and satellite systems on US Navy, other DOD ships and Coast Guard ships. Prepare and review engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation. Support Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) as required. Perform E3 and EMC system specific tests, analyses, and troubleshooting for applicable developmental and operational electronic systems to verify antenna system performance specifications and to ensure continuity of service the system provides to the Navy. Develop and update Electromagnetic Control Measure Drawings.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years general experience

  • 7 years experience in R&D/Test/Engineering or Integration related to warfare systems or electronic systems

  • Able to read and understand ship drawings/RF schematics and DoD Technical Manuals

  • Competence in RF test equipment setup and support
