Fund Accountant

The Fund Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting support for the various funds and portfolios that Vanguard manages. To be successful in this position, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, preferably with at least two years of related experience. You must also have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards, as well as a working knowledge of various financial software packages. Responsibilities for this job include:

1. Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial statements for the various funds and portfolios managed by Vanguard.
2. Ensure the accuracy of financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
3. Monitor and analyze financial performance of the funds and portfolios managed by Vanguard.
4. Prepare detailed reports for management on the current state of the funds and portfolios managed by Vanguard.
5. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues from other departments.
6. Maintain a working knowledge of various financial software packages.
7. Identify potential discrepancies and areas of improvement.
8. Assist in the preparation of the annual audit.
9. Proactively monitor financial trends and provide relevant financial insights.
10. Perform other accounting related tasks as needed.
