Job Description

Vanderbilt University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to join our dynamic team.   1. Conducting scientific research: The primary responsibility of the Research Technician will be to conduct research in accordance with the project goals and objectives set by the team. This includes following research protocols, collecting and analyzing data, and ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
  2. Collaborating with team members: The Research Technician will work closely with other team members, including researchers, scientists, and assistants, to plan and execute research projects. This collaboration will require effective communication and teamwork skills.
  3. Maintaining laboratory equipment: The Research Technician will be responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results. This may include troubleshooting equipment issues and coordinating repairs with the appropriate personnel.
  4. Recording and organizing data: Accurate and organized data collection is crucial in scientific research. The Research Technician will be responsible for recording and organizing data in a clear and concise manner, and ensuring data integrity.
  5. Literature review: Staying up-to-date with current research in the field is essential for a Research Technician. The individual will be expected to conduct literature reviews and assist in the development of research proposals and grant applications.
  6. Assisting with administrative tasks: The Research Technician may be responsible for assisting with administrative tasks, such as ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and coordinating schedules and meetings.
  7. Adhering to safety protocols: The Research Technician will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols and regulations in the laboratory, including handling hazardous materials and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Biomedical Sciences.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Research Laboratory Setting.

  • Familiarity With Various Laboratory Techniques And Equipment, Including Microscopy, Pcr, And Cell Culture.

  • Strong Organizational Skills And Ability To Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Closely With Other Researchers And Faculty Members.
