Welcome to Vanderbilt University's Law School! We are seeking a dynamic and highly qualified individual to join our team as the Program Director for the Energy, Environment, and Land Use Program. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven professional to lead and develop our program, which focuses on critical issues at the intersection of law, policy, and the environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy, environment, and land use law, as well as experience in program management and development.   1. Develop and lead the Energy, Environment, and Land Use Program at Vanderbilt Law School.
  2. Create and implement strategic plans and initiatives for the program, in collaboration with faculty and other stakeholders.
  3. Conduct research and stay current on the latest developments and trends in energy, environment, and land use law.
  4. Collaborate with faculty to design and teach courses related to the program.
  5. Recruit and manage a team of faculty, staff, and student assistants to support the program's activities.
  6. Plan and organize events, workshops, and conferences related to the program's focus areas.
  7. Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and industry leaders.
  8. Develop and manage the program's budget and resources.
  9. Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the program, and make recommendations for improvement.
  10. Represent the program and Vanderbilt Law School at conferences, meetings, and other events.
  11. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment within the program and the broader law school community.
  12. Provide mentorship and guidance to students interested in pursuing careers in energy, environment, and land use law.
  13. Act as a liaison between the program and other departments and programs within the university.
  14. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  15. Continuously evaluate and update the program's curriculum to meet the changing needs of the legal profession.
  16. Promote the program and its achievements through various communication channels.
  17. Stay informed about industry developments and best practices in program management and development.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Law School.

Job Qualifications
  • A Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role Within The Energy, Environment, Or Land Use Field.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Environmental And Energy Laws, Regulations, And Policies.

  • Experience In Developing And Implementing Successful Program Initiatives.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Students, Faculty, And External Partners.
