Job Description

Vanderbilt University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Preventive Maintenance Manager to join our Facilities and Maintenance team. This vital role will be responsible for overseeing preventive maintenance programs to ensure the continued functionality and safety of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, as well as a passion for creating and implementing effective maintenance strategies.   1. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facilities on Vanderbilt University's campus.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of facilities to identify potential issues and schedule necessary maintenance.
  3. Create and maintain a schedule for regular preventive maintenance tasks, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural maintenance.
  4. Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance during non-disruptive times.
  5. Analyze data and reports to identify trends and areas for improvement in the preventive maintenance program.
  6. Train and supervise maintenance staff to ensure they are following proper procedures and completing tasks effectively.
  7. Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary equipment and supplies for preventive maintenance tasks.
  8. Collaborate with vendors and contractors to obtain necessary materials and services for maintenance.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices for preventive maintenance and implement changes as needed.
  10. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards in all preventive maintenance activities.
  11. Communicate with other departments and stakeholders to provide updates on maintenance activities and any potential disruptions.
  12. Develop and maintain a budget for preventive maintenance programs.
  13. Handle any emergency maintenance situations and provide timely solutions.
  14. Conduct performance evaluations of maintenance staff and provide feedback for improvement.
  15. Participate in meetings and committees to provide input and recommendations for improving facilities and maintenance processes.
  16. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all preventive maintenance activities.
  17. Collaborate with the facilities management team to develop long-term maintenance plans and strategies.
  18. Continuously evaluate and improve preventive maintenance processes and procedures.
  19. Adhere to Vanderbilt University's mission, values, and code of conduct.
  20. Act as a leader and mentor for the maintenance team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Engineering, Facility Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Preventive Maintenance Management, Preferably In A University Or Large Institutional Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Building Systems And Equipment, Including Hvac, Electrical, Plumbing, And Fire Protection.

  • Experience With Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Cmms) And Proficiency In Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Manage A Team And Coordinate With Various Departments And Vendors.
