We are currently seeking a Librarian for Science, Engineering, and Connected Computing to join our team and help us achieve this goal.   1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive collection of resources in the fields of science, engineering, and connected computing, including physical and digital materials.
  2. Provide reference and research assistance to students and faculty in these fields, utilizing strong knowledge of library databases and resources.
  3. Collaborate with faculty to develop and deliver instructional sessions on information literacy and research skills specific to science, engineering, and connected computing.
  4. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in these fields, and make recommendations for new resources and services to support them.
  5. Act as a liaison between the library and the science, engineering, and connected computing departments, building and maintaining strong relationships with faculty and students.
  6. Participate in collection development decisions and budget management for the science, engineering, and connected computing collections.
  7. Actively promote library services and resources to the campus community, including through outreach and marketing efforts.
  8. Maintain and update subject-specific research guides and instructional materials for science, engineering, and connected computing.
  9. Provide excellent customer service to all library patrons, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  10. Contribute to the overall goals and initiatives of the library, including participating in committees and working groups.
  11. Stay informed about copyright and fair use policies and educate library patrons on these issues as needed.
  12. Keep accurate statistics and reports related to science, engineering, and connected computing library services and resources.
  13. Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness and relevance of library services for these fields and make recommendations for improvement.
  14. Engage in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in science, engineering, and connected computing librarianship.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Vanderbilt University and the library in all interactions and responsibilities.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Library Science From An Ala-Accredited Program

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Science, Engineering, And Connected Computing Fields

  • Experience In Developing And Managing Collections Related To These Fields

  • Familiarity With Emerging Technologies And Their Applications In A Library Setting

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Work With Faculty, Students, And Staff In The Sciences And Engineering Departments At Vanderbilt University.
