  1. Install and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the Vanderbilt University campus.
  2. Respond to work orders and troubleshoot HVAC issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure proper functioning of all HVAC systems.
  4. Diagnose and repair any malfunctions or breakdowns in HVAC equipment.
  5. Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance and repair logs.
  6. Collaborate with other members of the Facilities team to address any HVAC-related issues that may arise.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and changes in technology to ensure the most efficient and effective HVAC systems are in place.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on HVAC systems.
  9. Communicate effectively with staff, faculty, and students to address any concerns or issues related to HVAC systems.
  10. Maintain inventory of necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for HVAC repairs and maintenance.
  11. Train and mentor junior HVAC technicians as needed.
  12. Continuously look for ways to improve and streamline HVAC processes and systems.
  13. Provide excellent customer service and ensure that all HVAC systems are running at optimal levels to support the educational and research mission of Vanderbilt University.

  • Completion Of A Formal Hvac Training Program: Prospective Candidates Should Have Completed A Formal Training Program In Hvac, Such As A Certificate Or Associate's Degree Program. This Ensures That They Have The Necessary Technical Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Job Effectively.

  • Relevant Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As An Hvac Mechanic Is Typically Required For This Position. Candidates Should Have Experience In Installation, Repair, And Maintenance Of Hvac Systems In Commercial Or Institutional Settings.

  • Knowledge Of Building Codes And Regulations: Hvac Mechanics At Vanderbilt University Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local And State Building Codes And Regulations Related To Hvac Systems. This Includes Knowledge Of Safety Standards, Energy Efficiency Requirements, And Environmental Regulations.

  • Certifications And Licenses: Candidates Should Hold Relevant Certifications And Licenses, Such As An Epa 608 Certification, To Handle Refrigerants And Other Hazardous Materials. They Should Also Have A Valid Driver's License And A Clean Driving Record.
