  1. Lead and manage a team of mental health professionals in providing high-quality counseling services to students at Vanderbilt University.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans and policies for the University Counseling Center, in line with the institution's mission and values.
  3. Collaborate with other departments and organizations within the university to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to student mental health care.
  4. Provide clinical supervision and support to counselors, ensuring that all services are delivered in accordance with ethical and professional standards.
  5. Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of the Counseling Center's programs and services, and make recommendations for improvement.
  6. Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for students seeking counseling services, regardless of their background, identity, or beliefs.
  7. Stay updated on current research and best practices in the field of higher education counseling, and incorporate this knowledge into the center's services.
  8. Actively promote and advocate for mental health awareness and destigmatization on campus.
  9. Manage the center's budget and resources effectively to ensure efficient and sustainable operations.
  10. Provide crisis intervention and support to students in need, including after-hours availability as needed.
  11. Foster a positive and supportive work culture within the Counseling Center team, promoting staff development and well-being.
  12. Represent the University Counseling Center in various campus committees and events, and maintain positive relationships with other departments and stakeholders.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all legal and ethical standards in handling sensitive student information.
  14. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current in the field of higher education counseling.
  15. Demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Or Doctoral Degree In Counseling, Psychology, Or Related Field.

  • Current Licensure As A Mental Health Professional (E.g. Lpc, Lmft, Lcsw).

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Counseling Or Mental Health Setting, Preferably In A University Setting.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Program Development And Management, Including Budgeting And Strategic Planning.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Populations And Collaborate With Other Departments And Community Partners.
