Welcome to Vanderbilt University's Urgent Care department! We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Counseling Manager to join our team. As the Counseling Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing mental health services to our patients in a fast-paced urgent care setting.   1. Manage a team of counselors to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health services to patients in the urgent care setting.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the counseling department, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  4. Train and mentor counselors to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent patient care.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the performance of counselors, providing feedback and support as needed.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
  7. Stay up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices in the field of counseling to continuously improve the services offered by the department.
  8. Act as a liaison between the counseling department and other departments within the urgent care facility.
  9. Handle patient concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner, working to resolve issues and improve the patient experience.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards, maintaining strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
  11. Participate in meetings and committees to provide input on departmental policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  12. Collaborate with the HR department to recruit and hire new counselors, as well as manage staff development and performance evaluations.
  13. Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient care, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other necessary documentation.
  14. Act as a role model for staff, demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
  15. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, fostering teamwork and open communication among staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Or Related Field From An Accredited University.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Counseling Setting, Preferably In An Urgent Care Or Crisis Intervention Environment.

  • Supervisory Or Managerial Experience, Including Staff Development, Performance Management, And Budget Management.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Mental Health Disorders, Crisis Intervention Techniques, And Evidence-Based Counseling Practices.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals And Build Relationships With Patients And Families.
