  1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the University Counseling Center, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all staff and administrative processes.
  2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote the well-being and success of students seeking counseling services.
  3. Lead and supervise a team of counselors, administrative staff, and interns, providing guidance, support, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  4. Collaborate with other university departments and stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive and integrated approach to student mental health and wellness.
  5. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff, identifying areas for improvement and recognizing achievements.
  6. Coordinate and facilitate counseling services and resources for students in crisis or in need of urgent support.
  7. Stay up-to-date with current research, best practices, and legal and ethical standards in the field of counseling and mental health, and ensure that all staff are trained and compliant.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the counseling center and other departments, committees, and external organizations, advocating for the needs and concerns of students and counseling staff.
  9. Develop and manage the counseling center's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and compliance with university policies and procedures.
  10. Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity within the counseling center, promoting equity and access to services for all students.
  11. Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling services, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines and standards.
  12. Represent the university and the counseling center at conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
  13. Collaborate with the university's marketing and communications team to promote the counseling center's services and initiatives to students, faculty, and staff.
  14. Serve as a resource and support for students, faculty, and staff seeking information or assistance related to mental health and wellness on campus.
  15. Stay informed about current trends, issues, and challenges in student mental health and proactively develop strategies to address them.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Clinical Counseling Setting, Preferably In A University Setting.

  • Licensure Or Eligibility For Licensure As A Mental Health Professional In The State Of Tennessee.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Counseling Professionals.

  • Knowledge Of Current Best Practices In University Counseling, Including Experience With Crisis Management And Diversity And Inclusion Initiatives.
