As an Assistant Coach, you will have the opportunity to work with talented student-athletes and help them reach their full potential both on and off the field.   1. Develop and implement effective coaching strategies and techniques to improve the performance of student-athletes.
  2. Assist the Head Coach in recruiting and retaining talented student-athletes who align with the university's values and athletic program.
  3. Provide individualized support and guidance to student-athletes, both on and off the field, to help them achieve their academic and athletic goals.
  4. Collaborate with other coaches and staff to plan and execute practices, games, and team events.
  5. Foster a positive and competitive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
  6. Monitor and ensure compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
  7. Serve as a role model for student-athletes, promoting integrity, discipline, and character both on and off the field.
  8. Attend all team meetings, practices, games, and other required events.
  9. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, staff, and parents to provide updates on team progress and individual performance.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.
  11. Assist with administrative tasks, such as budget management, travel arrangements, and equipment inventory.
  12. Represent Vanderbilt University and the athletic program in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  13. Maintain a safe and healthy environment for all student-athletes, following proper protocols for injury prevention and treatment.
  14. Act as a mentor and advisor for student-athletes, providing support and guidance for their personal and academic development.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletics Department.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Sports Science, Kinesiology, Or Physical Education.

  • Prior Experience Coaching At The High School Or College Level, Preferably With A Successful Record.

  • Strong Understanding Of The Rules And Strategies Of The Sport Being Coached, As Well As Knowledge Of Ncaa Regulations.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Motivate And Mentor Student-Athletes.

  • Commitment To Upholding The Values And Standards Of Vanderbilt University, Including Academic Excellence And Ethical Conduct.
