Job Description

  1. Curate and maintain an aesthetically pleasing and on-brand product selection for Urban Outfitters stores.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including buying, planning, and visual merchandising, to ensure a cohesive and strategic product assortment.
  3. Conduct market research and stay up-to-date on industry trends to inform product selection and assortment.
  4. Analyze historical and current sales data to make informed decisions on product placement and inventory levels.
  5. Develop and execute merchandising strategies to drive sales and maximize profitability.
  6. Communicate regularly with buying and planning teams to provide insights and recommendations on product performance.
  7. Ensure the timely and accurate execution of product deliveries and visual merchandising initiatives.
  8. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  9. Monitor and maintain inventory levels to minimize out-of-stocks and overstocks.
  10. Attend buying trips and trade shows to identify new and emerging trends and potential product opportunities.
  11. Train and mentor junior merchandising team members to support their growth and development.
  12. Maintain a thorough understanding of Urban Outfitters' brand, aesthetic, and target customer to inform product selection.
  13. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes creativity, diversity, and self-expression.
  14. Continuously seek out ways to improve and innovate the merchandising process and customer shopping experience.
  15. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including visual merchandising guidelines and inventory management protocols.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Visual Merchandising Skills: As A Merchandiser At Urban Outfitters, The Ability To Create Appealing And On-Brand Displays Is Crucial. This Includes A Keen Eye For Design, Knowledge Of Current Fashion Trends, And The Ability To Curate Products In An Attractive And Cohesive Manner.

  • Retail Experience: Previous Experience In A Retail Environment, Particularly In A Merchandising Role, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This Includes Knowledge Of Inventory Management, Product Placement, And Customer Engagement.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Merchandiser, You Will Be Working Closely With Other Team Members, Including Buyers, Store Managers, And Visual Merchandisers. Strong Communication Skills Are Essential To Effectively Collaborate And Execute Merchandising Plans.

  • Organizational Skills: In Order To Keep Track Of Inventory, Create Displays, And Maintain The Overall Appearance Of The Store, A Merchandiser At Urban Outfitters Must Be Highly Organized And Detail-Oriented. The Ability To Multitask And Prioritize Tasks Is Also Important In This Role.

  • Passion For The Brand: Urban Outfitters Has A Unique Brand Identity, And It Is Important For A Merchandiser To Understand And Embody This Brand Image. A Passion For Fashion, Music, And Pop Culture, As Well As A Strong Understanding Of The Urban Outfitters Target Market, Will Help To Create Successful Merchandising Strategies.
