Job Description

We are looking for a talented Merchandise Planner to join our team and help us curate the perfect assortment of apparel for our customers. As a Merchandise Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our stores are stocked with the latest trends, while also maximizing sales and profitability. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual with a passion for fashion and a strong understanding of retail math.   1. Collaborate with buying and merchandising teams to develop and implement merchandise strategies that align with company goals and target customer preferences.
  2. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities and risks in the assortment and make recommendations for adjustments.
  3. Create and maintain merchandise plans, including assortment plans, buy plans, and inventory levels, to ensure proper product mix and availability.
  4. Develop and manage open-to-buy budgets and monitor inventory levels to maximize sales and minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  5. Communicate with vendors and negotiate pricing and delivery schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective product flow.
  6. Conduct regular store visits and analyze store-level data to make informed decisions on product placement and replenishment.
  7. Monitor and analyze sales and inventory performance to identify and address any potential issues or opportunities.
  8. Collaborate with store operations and visual merchandising teams to ensure proper product presentation and visual merchandising standards are met.
  9. Participate in the development of seasonal and annual financial plans and contribute to the creation of merchandise budgets.
  10. Stay current on fashion trends, market conditions, and competitor strategies to inform merchandise decisions.
  11. Train and mentor junior team members to ensure understanding of merchandise planning processes and company objectives.
  12. Attend buying and trade shows to identify new trends and potential vendors to enhance the product assortment.
  13. Support cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve overall business performance.
  14. Uphold the brand image and values of Urban Outfitters through all aspects of merchandise planning.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business, Fashion Merchandising, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Merchandise Planning, Preferably In The Apparel Industry.

  • Strong Analytical And Mathematical Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Data And Make Strategic Decisions.

  • Knowledge Of Retail Math And Inventory Management Techniques.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Cross-Functionally With Buying, Marketing, And Retail Teams.
