- Develop and execute merchandise plans that align with the company's overall sales and profitability goals.
- Conduct thorough market and trend research to identify key product categories and determine optimal assortment mix.
- Analyze historical sales data and current market trends to make informed decisions about product assortment, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including buying, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment and maximize sales opportunities.
- Create and maintain accurate sales forecasts and inventory plans, adjusting as needed to meet changing market conditions.
- Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for markdowns, promotions, and reorders to maximize sales and minimize excess inventory.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to negotiate favorable pricing and payment terms.
- Communicate regularly with buying team to provide updates on sales performance, inventory levels, and any potential risks or opportunities.
- Prepare and present merchandise plans and strategies to senior management, including recommendations for future product assortments.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitors, and customer preferences to inform merchandise planning decisions.
- Train and mentor junior merchandise planners, providing guidance and support in developing their analytical and planning skills.
- Ensure all merchandise planning processes and procedures are followed accurately and efficiently.
- Continuously evaluate and improve merchandise planning strategies and processes to drive sales and profitability.
- Adhere to budget and financial targets set by senior management.
- Collaborate with store teams to ensure effective execution of merchandise plans at the store level.
Bachelor's Degree In Business, Retail Merchandising, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Merchandise Planning In A Retail Environment.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Use Data To Make Strategic Decisions.
Proficiency In Retail Math And Forecasting Techniques.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Cross-Functionally With Buying, Allocation, And Store Teams.
