- Develop and design women's knitwear pieces that align with Urban Outfitters' brand aesthetic and target customer base.
- Stay up-to-date on current and emerging fashion trends, particularly in the knitwear category.
- Collaborate with the design team to brainstorm and develop new and innovative ideas for knitwear designs.
- Create sketches and technical drawings of designs to present to the design team and for production purposes.
- Source and select materials and trims for knitwear designs, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct market research to identify gaps in the market and potential new design opportunities.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are produced accurately and within specified timelines.
- Review and approve samples and make necessary adjustments to ensure designs are executed correctly.
- Attend fittings and provide feedback to ensure proper fit and construction of knitwear designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as merchandising, marketing, and sales to ensure cohesive and successful product launches.
- Maintain an organized and efficient design process, including managing timelines and communicating any potential delays.
- Assist in the development of seasonal design concepts and mood boards.
- Provide support and guidance to design assistants and interns as needed.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Urban Outfitters, representing the company and its values in a professional manner.
Bachelor's Degree In Fashion Design Or Related Field
Proficiency In Adobe Creative Suite And Other Design Software
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Knitwear Design, Preferably In The Women's Fashion Industry
Strong Understanding Of Current Fashion Trends, Particularly In The Urban Outfitters Target Market
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With A Proven Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced, Deadline-Driven Environment.
