In this role, you will directly support the Department Manager in overseeing the daily operations of a specific department, ensuring exceptional customer service and team performance.   1. Collaborate with the Department Manager to develop and implement strategies for driving sales and achieving department goals.
  2. Assist in the hiring, training, and development of department staff to ensure a knowledgeable and motivated team.
  3. Monitor and maintain inventory levels, including ordering and receiving merchandise, to meet customer demand and minimize stock shortages.
  4. Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service and establishing a positive shopping experience for customers.
  5. Create and maintain visual merchandising displays that align with company standards and highlight current fashion trends.
  6. Communicate regularly with the Department Manager to provide updates on department performance and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Assist in conducting performance reviews and providing feedback to team members to promote growth and development.
  8. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including loss prevention measures and cash handling procedures.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity in order to make informed business decisions.
  10. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, and a strong work ethic.

Job Qualifications
  • Retail Management Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Retail Management Role, Preferably In The Fashion Or Apparel Industry.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: As An Assistant Department Manager, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Leading And Supervising A Team Of Employees. Therefore, They Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills And Be Able To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team.

  • Knowledge Of Fashion Trends And Urban Outfitters Brand: The Candidate Should Have A Good Understanding Of Current Fashion Trends And Be Familiar With The Urban Outfitters Brand And Its Target Demographic. This Will Help Them In Making Informed Buying Decisions And Providing Excellent Customer Service.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: The Role Involves Interacting With Customers On A Daily Basis, So The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills. They Should Be Able To Assist Customers With Their Inquiries, Resolve Complaints, And Provide A Positive Shopping Experience.

  • Strong Organizational And Multitasking Abilities: The Assistant Department Manager Will Be Responsible For Various Tasks Such As Inventory Management, Visual Merchandising, Scheduling, And Employee Training.
