The University of Wyoming is seeking a talented University Photographer to join our dynamic team. As the official photographer for the university, you will have the chance to showcase your creative eye and technical expertise while documenting the diverse events, people, and landscapes that make our campus unique. We are looking for someone who is passionate about their craft and dedicated to capturing the essence of our university through stunning images. If you have a strong portfolio, excellent communication skills, and a love for higher education, we want to hear from you!

  1. Capture high-quality and visually appealing images that accurately represent the University of Wyoming and its community.
  2. Attend and document a variety of university events and activities, including but not limited to, lectures, sports games, campus tours, and graduations.
  3. Work collaboratively with the university's marketing and communications team to ensure that all photography aligns with the university's overall brand and messaging.
  4. Utilize both traditional and modern photography techniques to produce dynamic and engaging images.
  5. Edit and retouch photos as needed to ensure the highest quality for publication.
  6. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with university staff, faculty, students, and visitors.
  7. Manage and prioritize photography requests from various departments and individuals within the university.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the quality of university photography.
  9. Adhere to all copyright laws and obtain necessary permissions for photography usage.
  10. Maintain and organize an extensive portfolio of university photographs for future use.
  11. Communicate effectively and efficiently with university staff and stakeholders to schedule and coordinate photography sessions.
  12. Take initiative to identify and capture unique and compelling images that showcase the university's diverse community and culture.
  13. Travel to different locations on and off-campus for photography assignments as needed.
  14. Represent the university in a professional manner at all times.
  15. Uphold the university's values and mission through photography.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Photography Or Related Field: A University Photographer At University Of Wyoming Should Possess A Strong Foundation In Photography Techniques, Equipment, And Principles. A Bachelor's Degree In Photography Or A Related Field Will Demonstrate A Thorough Understanding Of The Craft.

  • Experience In Event And Portrait Photography: The University Photographer Will Be Responsible For Capturing A Wide Range Of Events And Portraits On Campus. Previous Experience In These Areas, Whether Through Internships, Freelance Work, Or Previous Employment, Will Be Highly Valued.

  • Proficiency In Photo Editing Software: The University Photographer Should Be Proficient In Photo Editing Software Such As Adobe Photoshop And Lightroom. This Skill Is Crucial In Order To Edit And Enhance Photos For Final Use In University Publications And Marketing Materials.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Representative Of The University, The University Photographer Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. This Will Be Important When Working With Faculty, Staff, And Students To Capture Their Events And Portraits, As Well As When Collaborating With Other University Departments.

  • Ability To Work Flexible Hours: The University Of Wyoming Hosts Events And Activities Throughout The Year, Including Evenings And Weekends. The University Photographer Should Be Able To Work A Flexible Schedule To Accommodate These Events And Ensure Timely Delivery Of Photos.
