Job Description

If so, the University of Wyoming's Student Media team is looking for a Social Media and Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills in social media, marketing, and content creation while making a meaningful impact on the University community. We are seeking a talented and motivated student who is ready to take on the challenge of promoting our brand and engaging with our audience.   1. Develop and implement creative and engaging social media strategies to promote the University of Wyoming's brand and increase audience engagement.
  2. Create and curate high-quality and visually appealing content for various social media platforms, including text, images, and videos.
  3. Monitor and analyze social media metrics to track the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven decisions for future strategies.
  4. Collaborate with the Student Media team to develop and execute marketing plans for various events, programs, and initiatives.
  5. Stay up-to-date with current social media trends, industry best practices, and emerging platforms to continuously improve the University's online presence.
  6. Engage with the University community through social media by responding to comments and messages, fostering online discussions, and promoting student involvement.
  7. Assist in managing and maintaining the University's social media accounts, including scheduling posts, monitoring comments, and ensuring brand consistency.
  8. Work closely with other departments and student organizations to promote University events and initiatives through social media.
  9. Create and manage paid social media campaigns to reach targeted audiences and increase brand awareness.
  10. Assist in developing and designing marketing materials, such as flyers, posters, and digital graphics, to promote the University's brand and events.
  11. Help manage and maintain the University's online reputation by monitoring and responding to reviews and feedback on social media platforms.
  12. Provide support to the Student Media team by assisting with various tasks and projects as needed.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Social Media And Marketing Assistant, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Creating And Curating Content For The University's Student Media. Therefore, They Should Possess Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills To Effectively Engage With The Target Audience.

  • Knowledge Of Marketing And Advertising Principles: The Candidate Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Marketing And Advertising Principles And How They Can Be Applied To Social Media Platforms. This Will Help Them In Developing Effective Marketing Strategies To Promote The University's Student Media.

  • Creative Thinking And Problem-Solving Skills: The Role Of A Social Media And Marketing Assistant Requires Creativity And The Ability To Think Outside The Box. The Candidate Should Be Able To Come Up With Innovative Ideas To Promote Student Media And Solve Any Problems That May Arise.

  • Familiarity With Design And Editing Tools: Basic Knowledge Of Design And Editing Tools Such As Canva, Adobe Photoshop, And Imovie Will Be Beneficial For The Candidate In Creating Visually Appealing And Engaging Social Media Content. However, Training Will Also Be Provided For Candidates With Limited Experience In These Tools.
