Job Description

Welcome to the University of Wyoming, where we believe in empowering our students to reach their full potential and excel in their chosen fields. We are currently seeking a dynamic and ambitious Sales Rep to join our Student Media team. As a Sales Rep, you will have the opportunity to represent and promote our student-run media outlets, including the university newspaper, radio station, and television station. We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about media and sales, and who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. If you are a driven and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and sales skills, we would love to hear from you.

  1. Act as a brand ambassador for the University of Wyoming, promoting our student-run media outlets to potential clients and partners.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, including businesses, organizations, and individuals, to secure advertising partnerships.
  3. Conduct market research to identify potential clients and develop sales strategies to reach them.
  4. Meet and exceed sales targets and goals set by the Student Media team.
  5. Collaborate with the Student Media team to create and implement effective sales campaigns and promotions.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to clients, addressing their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes to ensure our media outlets remain competitive and attractive to potential clients.
  8. Create and present sales proposals and pitches to potential clients, highlighting the value and benefits of advertising with our student media outlets.
  9. Maintain accurate records of sales, contracts, and client interactions.
  10. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving sales strategies and processes.
  11. Attend networking events and community functions to represent the University of Wyoming and promote our student media outlets.
  12. Continuously seek out new business opportunities and potential partnerships to expand the reach and impact of our student media outlets.
  13. Adhere to all University policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and regulations, in all sales activities.

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent Communication Skills: A Successful Sales Rep For Student Media At The University Of Wyoming Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Convey The Benefits Of Advertising In Student Media To Potential Clients.

  • Sales Experience: Previous Experience In Sales, Preferably In A Media-Related Field, Is A Desirable Qualification For This Role. This Will Demonstrate A Proven Ability To Meet Sales Targets And Build Client Relationships.

  • Knowledge Of Student Media: Familiarity With The University Of Wyoming's Student Media Outlets, Such As The Student Newspaper And Radio Station, Is Important For A Sales Rep To Understand The Target Audience And Effectively Sell Advertising Space.

  • Time Management And Organizational Skills: A Sales Rep Must Be Able To Prioritize And Manage Their Time Effectively, As Well As Stay Organized In A Fast-Paced Environment. This Is Essential For Meeting Deadlines And Delivering Results.

  • Passion For Marketing And Advertising: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Interest In Marketing And Advertising, As Well As A Passion For Promoting Student Media. This Will Help Them To Be Enthusiastic And Persuasive When Selling Advertising Opportunities.
