- Manage library resources: Responsible for overseeing the acquisition, organization, and access of resources within the library system.
- Collaborate with team: Work closely with other members of the Resource Discovery and Management Division to ensure efficient and effective management of library resources.
- Discover new resources: Continuously research and discover new resources to enhance the library's collection and meet the needs of the diverse community of learners and researchers.
- Understand library systems: Possess a strong understanding of library systems and be able to effectively navigate and utilize them to support library users.
- Support academic success: Dedicate efforts to promoting access to information and providing support to students and faculty to aid in their academic success.
- Provide user assistance: Offer assistance and guidance to library users in locating and accessing resources, both in person and through online platforms.
- Maintain organization: Ensure that library resources are properly organized and cataloged to facilitate easy access for users.
- Stay up-to-date: Keep up with current trends, technologies, and best practices in library resource management to continuously improve processes and services.
- Handle administrative tasks: Complete necessary administrative tasks, such as inventory management, budgeting, and reporting, related to library resource management.
- Attention to detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in all aspects of library resource management.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with colleagues, library users, and vendors to coordinate resource management activities and address any issues or concerns.
- Uphold library policies: Ensure that all library policies and procedures are followed in regards to resource management.
- Foster a positive environment: Contribute to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all library users and promote diversity and inclusion within the library system.
Bachelor's Degree In Library Science, Information Science, Or A Related Field.
Knowledge Of Library Cataloging And Metadata Standards, Such As Marc, Dublin Core, And Rda.
Familiarity With Library Discovery Systems, Such As Ex Libris Primo Or Oclc Worldcat Discovery.
Experience With Library Collection Management And Electronic Resource Management.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Colleagues And Library Patrons.
