Job Description

The University of Wyoming is seeking a skilled and personable individual to join our team as a Bartender for the Beverage Cart at Jacoby Golf Course. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with customers, create delicious beverages, and contribute to the overall success of our golf course operations.   1. Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional service and ensuring their satisfaction.
  2. Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, adhering to safety and health regulations.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized beverage cart, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked.
  4. Communicate effectively with other staff members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  5. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and responsibly.
  6. Follow all state and local laws regarding the sale and consumption of alcohol.
  7. Provide recommendations and suggestions to customers, upselling when appropriate.
  8. Maintain knowledge of all drinks, prices, and promotions offered at the golf course.
  9. Follow proper opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and restocking the cart.
  10. Monitor customer alcohol consumption and intervene if necessary to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
  11. Adhere to all health and safety standards, including proper sanitation and handling of food and beverages.
  12. Assist with special events and tournaments as needed.
  13. Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new policies, procedures, and products.
  14. Represent the golf course and university in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience In Bartending And Beverage Service: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience Working As A Bartender Or Beverage Cart Attendant, Preferably In A Golf Course Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Mixing Drinks, Handling Cash Transactions, And Providing Excellent Customer Service.

  • Knowledge Of Golf Course Operations: Familiarity With Golf Course Operations, Including Pace Of Play, Golf Etiquette, And Course Layout, Is Essential For This Position. This Will Enable The Bartender To Effectively Serve Golfers And Ensure A Smooth And Enjoyable Experience On The Course.

  • Ability To Multitask And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Job Of A Bartender At A Golf Course Can Be Fast-Paced And Demanding, Especially During Peak Hours. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks Efficiently, Such As Taking Orders, Preparing Drinks, And Managing The Beverage Cart.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Representative Of The Jacoby Golf Course And The University Of Wyoming, The Bartender Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills. This Includes The Ability To Interact With A Diverse Group Of Customers, Take Orders Accurately, And Resolve Any Customer Issues Or Complaints.

  • Availability For Flexible Working Hours And Weekends: Golf Courses Are Busiest On Weekends And During Peak Seasons, So The Ideal Candidate Should Be Available To Work Flexible Hours, Including Early Mornings, Evenings, And Weekends. This May Also Include Working On Holidays And During Special Events At The Golf Course.
