As part of the Hourly Pooled - Carey Family Papers project, you will play a crucial role in digitizing and organizing this valuable collection for future generations.   1. Conduct high-quality scans of historical documents using specialized equipment and software.
  2. Organize and catalog scanned documents in a systematic and efficient manner.
  3. Ensure the preservation and protection of fragile documents during the scanning process.
  4. Collaborate with other team members to establish and maintain digitization standards and protocols.
  5. Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of scanned documents.
  6. Troubleshoot technical issues with scanning equipment and software.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed records of the scanning process.
  8. Adhere to copyright laws and other legal requirements when handling sensitive or copyrighted materials.
  9. Communicate effectively with project leaders and team members to provide updates on progress and any issues or concerns.
  10. Contribute to the development and improvement of processes and procedures for digitization and preservation.
  11. Participate in training and workshops related to digitization and preservation techniques.
  12. Adhere to strict confidentiality policies and procedures when working with sensitive or confidential materials.
  13. Handle delicate and fragile materials with care and follow proper handling procedures.
  14. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of metadata associated with digitized documents.
  15. Contribute to the promotion and dissemination of the digitized collection to make it accessible to a wider audience.

Job Qualifications
  • Proficiency In Archival Scanning And Digitization Techniques, Including Knowledge Of Preservation Standards And Best Practices.

  • Experience Working With Delicate And Fragile Materials, Including Paper Documents, Photographs, And Other Media.
