- Process archival materials according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure the accurate and efficient organization and cataloging of archival materials.
- Conduct research to identify and verify information related to archival materials.
- Assist with the preservation and conservation of archival materials.
- Provide excellent customer service to researchers and visitors.
- Assist with digitization projects and the creation of digital collections.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of archival materials.
- Participate in outreach and educational activities to promote the use and understanding of archival materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to improve and enhance access to archival materials.
- Stay current on best practices and trends in archival management.
- Follow established security and handling protocols to ensure the safety of archival materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, researchers, and visitors.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the archives.
- Assist with the coordination and supervision of volunteers and interns.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Archives Manager.
Knowledge Of Archival Principles And Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Archival Principles And Practices, Including Arrangement And Description, Preservation, And Access To Archival Materials.
Experience With Digital Archives: In Today's Digital Age, Having Experience With Managing And Preserving Digital Archives Is Essential. The Candidate Should Possess Knowledge Of Digital Preservation Standards And Software.
Attention To Detail: As An Expeditor, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Organizing And Expediting The Retrieval Of Archival Materials. Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Ensure Accuracy And Efficiency In This Role.
Strong Organizational And Time Management Skills: The Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Manage Their Time And Prioritize Tasks In A Fast-Paced Environment. Excellent Organizational Skills Are Also Necessary To Maintain The Integrity Of The Archival Collections.
