  1. Act as the primary point of contact for all transfer students, providing exceptional customer service and support throughout their academic journey at UTSA.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with community colleges and other transfer institutions to facilitate a smooth transfer process for incoming students.
  3. Advise transfer students on academic programs, degree requirements, and course selection to ensure timely graduation.
  4. Evaluate transfer credits and make appropriate decisions regarding course equivalencies and degree requirements.
  5. Collaborate with academic departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date transfer credit information is available to students.
  6. Develop and implement strategies to support the academic success and retention of transfer students.
  7. Develop and deliver workshops and presentations on transfer credit processes and academic resources to incoming and current transfer students.
  8. Stay current on policies and procedures related to transfer credit and communicate any updates to students and staff.
  9. Serve as a mentor and resource for other staff members and assist with training and onboarding of new transfer specialists.
  10. Participate in recruitment events and represent UTSA at transfer fairs and other related events.
  11. Maintain accurate and organized records of transfer student data and generate reports as needed.
  12. Continuously seek ways to improve the transfer student experience and make recommendations for enhancements to transfer processes.
  13. Support the overall mission and values of UTSA and strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Education, Counseling, Or Student Services.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience Working In Transfer Advising Or Admissions At A College Or University.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Transfer Credit Evaluation Processes And Policies, Including Articulation Agreements And Transfer Equivalency Databases.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Advise And Support Transfer Students From Diverse Backgrounds.

  • Familiarity With Student Information Systems And Software Used In Higher Education, Such As Banner Or Peoplesoft.
