- Develop and implement programs and initiatives to foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment for international students at the University of Texas, San Antonio.
- Provide support services to international students, including academic advising, cultural adjustment assistance, and referrals to campus resources.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and events to promote cultural exchange and enhance language proficiency among students.
- Teach English as a second language to international students, utilizing effective and engaging teaching methods.
- Collaborate with other departments and organizations within the university to develop and implement cross-cultural programming.
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in international education and language learning.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for international students, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of student progress and program participation.
- Communicate effectively and sensitively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to contribute to the overall mission and goals of the Global Initiatives department.
- Support and assist in recruitment efforts for international students, including attending recruitment events and fairs.
- Collaborate with other university departments to ensure the integration of international students into campus life.
- Serve as a liaison between the English Language Center and other departments to ensure seamless support and services for international students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of international education.
- Act as a positive and welcoming representative of the University of Texas, San Antonio to international students, faculty, and staff.
A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In English, Education, Linguistics, Or A Related Field.
At Least 3 Years Of Experience Working In An English Language Center Or International Education Program.
Strong Knowledge Of Current Trends And Best Practices In Teaching English As A Second Language.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With A Diverse Group Of Students, Faculty, And Staff.
Fluency In At Least One Foreign Language And Experience Living Or Studying Abroad Is Preferred.
