1. Perform routine and preventive maintenance of electrical systems and equipment on campus.
2. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues and determine appropriate solutions.
3. Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment, including lighting, power distribution, and other related components.
4. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and codes while performing electrical work.
5. Monitor and maintain electrical inventory and order necessary materials and supplies.
6. Collaborate with other members of the Facilities Operations & Maintenance team to coordinate repairs and maintenance projects.
7. Keep accurate records of all electrical work performed, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and installations.
8. Respond to emergency calls and perform repairs in a timely manner.
9. Stay updated on the latest electrical codes, regulations, and techniques to ensure the highest quality work.
10. Communicate effectively with university staff, faculty, and students regarding electrical issues and repairs.
11. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
12. Assist in training and mentoring new electrician hires.
13. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines and maintain efficient operations.
14. Collaborate with outside vendors and contractors as needed.
15. Act as a representative of the university, promoting a positive image and maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.
