  1. Manage and maintain the technological infrastructure of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for faculty, staff, and students in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Monitor and update system security measures to ensure the protection of sensitive data.
  4. Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for critical systems.
  5. Collaborate with other IT staff to plan and execute system upgrades and updates.
  6. Provide training and support to faculty, staff, and students on the use of various systems and software.
  7. Manage user accounts and permissions to ensure appropriate access levels.
  8. Monitor system performance and make recommendations for improvements and optimizations.
  9. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and make recommendations for their implementation.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to all users and maintain a positive and professional attitude.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience As A Systems Administrator, Preferably In A Higher Education Or Engineering Environment

  • Strong Knowledge Of Networking Principles And Protocols, Including Tcp/Ip, Dns, Dhcp, And Vpn

  • Proficiency In Managing And Troubleshooting Windows And Linux Operating Systems

  • Experience With Virtualization Technologies Such As Vmware And Hyper-V, As Well As Cloud Computing Platforms Like Aws Or Azure.
