  1. Curate and manage the university's digital collection, ensuring its integrity and accessibility for future generations.
  2. Develop and implement strategies for the preservation of digital materials, including regular backups and maintenance of digital storage systems.
  3. Collaborate with other departments within the university to identify and acquire relevant digital materials for the collection.
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in digital preservation and implement them within the university's archives.
  5. Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the digital collection.
  6. Train and educate staff and researchers on proper methods for digital preservation and use of digital materials.
  7. Supervise and mentor interns and volunteers assisting with digital archiving projects.
  8. Collaborate with IT professionals to ensure proper storage and organization of digital assets.
  9. Manage copyright and licensing issues related to the use of digital materials.
  10. Participate in outreach and engagement activities to promote the university's digital collection to the public and scholarly community.
  11. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the digital collection, including metadata and accession information.
  12. Identify and address any technical issues or challenges related to the digital collection.
  13. Participate in disaster preparedness and recovery planning for the digital collection.
  14. Communicate and collaborate with external partners and stakeholders, such as other institutions and donors, to acquire and share digital materials.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Library And Information Science, Archival Studies, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Digital Archives Or Digital Preservation Setting

  • Knowledge Of Digital Preservation Standards And Best Practices, Such As Oais And Premis

  • Proficiency In Archival Management Software And Digital Asset Management Systems

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work With Diverse Stakeholders And Effectively Present Complex Digital Preservation Concepts To Non-Technical Audiences.
