- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to promote international education and study abroad opportunities for students at the University of San Diego.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Office of International Studies Abroad, including budget management, staff supervision, and program coordination.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff across campus to integrate international education into the curriculum and academic programs.
- Foster relationships with partner universities and organizations worldwide to develop and maintain study abroad programs.
- Provide guidance and support to students in the study abroad process, including advising on program options, application procedures, and financial aid opportunities.
- Create and facilitate pre-departure orientation programs to prepare students for their study abroad experiences.
- Advise and mentor students on intercultural competence and help them navigate cultural differences while abroad.
- Serve as a resource for faculty and staff on international education best practices, including risk management and emergency response protocols.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of study abroad programs, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Stay current on trends and developments in the field of international education, and incorporate innovative ideas and practices into the office's programs and services.
- Represent the Office of International Studies Abroad at university events and conferences, and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Uphold the university's mission and values, and ensure that all programs and services align with these principles.
- Maintain accurate records and data on study abroad participation and outcomes, and prepare reports as needed.
- Continuously promote diversity and inclusion within the Office of International Studies Abroad and the study abroad programs.
- Collaborate with other university departments, such as admissions and career services, to promote study abroad opportunities and highlight their value to prospective and current students.
A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In International Education, Higher Education Administration, Or A Related Field.
At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role In International Education, Preferably At A University Or College Setting.
Demonstrated Knowledge And Understanding Of International Education Policies, Procedures, And Best Practices.
Experience Developing And Managing Study Abroad Programs, Including Budgeting, Risk Management, And Cultural Immersion.
Proven Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With International Partners, Students, Faculty, And Staff.
