  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures in accordance with university guidelines and best practices.
  • Oversee the budgeting process and ensure that all financial plans align with the university's strategic goals.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Manage and provide guidance to the finance team, including setting goals, evaluating performance, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial support and guidance, and collaborate on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership and the university's board of trustees.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Oversee the university's investments and endowment, and make strategic decisions to maximize returns.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as auditors, financial institutions, and donors.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments in higher education finance, and make recommendations for improvement and innovation within the university's financial operations.
  • Act as a representative of the university in financial matters and maintain a strong reputation for financial integrity and responsibility.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Financial Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Financial Management, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting. They Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Financial Principles, Accounting Practices, And Budget Management.

  • Advanced Degree In Finance Or Related Field: A Master's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Or Business Administration Is Typically Required For This Role. A Cpa Certification And/Or Experience In A Higher Education Finance Role Would Also Be Highly Desirable.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: The Role Of Senior Director Of Finance Requires Excellent Leadership Abilities, Including The Ability To Manage And Motivate A Team, As Well As Collaborate And Communicate Effectively With Other Departments And Stakeholders.

  • Strategic And Analytical Thinking: The Candidate Should Have A Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Financial Strategies That Align With The Overall Goals And Objectives Of The University. They Should Also Possess Strong Analytical Skills And Be Able To Interpret And Present Financial Data To Inform Decision Making.

  • Knowledge Of Higher Education Finance Regulations: As A Senior Director Of Finance At A University, The Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Regulatory Environment For Higher Education Finance, Including Compliance With Federal And State Regulations, Grant Management, And Auditing.
