Job Description

The University of Rochester is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Radiologic Technologist - Imaging Ortho.   1. Conduct high-quality imaging procedures: Perform radiographic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, with a focus on orthopedic patients.
  2. Ensure patient safety: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of patients during imaging procedures.
  3. Maintain equipment: Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including troubleshooting and reporting any malfunctions or issues.
  4. Collaborate with medical team: Work closely with orthopedic physicians and other medical professionals to ensure accurate and timely imaging for patient diagnosis and treatment.
  5. Record and maintain patient records: Accurately record patient information and imaging results, and maintain confidentiality of all patient records.
  6. Educate patients: Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, answer questions, and address any concerns.
  7. Ensure compliance: Adhere to all regulatory and accreditation standards for imaging procedures, including maintaining appropriate licensure and certifications.
  8. Stay current with industry advancements: Stay up-to-date with advancements in imaging technology and techniques, and implement best practices to improve patient care.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment: Keep imaging rooms and equipment clean and sanitized, and maintain an organized work space.
  10. Demonstrate compassion and empathy: Provide compassionate care to patients, understanding the potential discomfort or anxiety they may experience during imaging procedures.
  11. Support a positive and collaborative work environment: Work effectively with team members, including technologists, nurses, and support staff, to ensure a positive and efficient work environment.
  12. Attend trainings and meetings: Participate in continuing education and attend departmental meetings to enhance knowledge and skills.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Radiologic Technology: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Radiologic Technology Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position At University Of Rochester.

  • Arrt Certification: The Candidate Must Possess Current Registration With The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt). This Certification Is Essential For Performing X-Rays And Other Imaging Procedures.

  • Experience In Orthopedic Imaging: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Orthopedic Imaging, Including Knowledge Of Specialized Techniques And Equipment Used In This Field.

  • Knowledge Of Radiation Safety: A Thorough Understanding Of Radiation Safety Principles And Practices Is Required For This Position. The Candidate Should Be Able To Follow Safety Protocols And Ensure The Safety Of Patients, Staff, And Themselves.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Radiologic Technologist, The Candidate Will Work Closely With Patients, Doctors, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Providing High-Quality Patient Care And Collaborating With The Healthcare Team.
