Certification: A Phlebotomist At University Of Rochester Should Have A Valid Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).
Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting Is Preferred. Previous Experience In A Research Or Academic Setting Is Also Desirable.
Technical Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Strong Technical Skills, Including Knowledge Of Various Venipuncture Techniques, Blood Collection Equipment, And Proper Handling And Storage Of Blood Samples.
Communication Skills: Phlebotomists At University Of Rochester Will Be Required To Interact With Patients Of All Ages And Backgrounds, As Well As Healthcare Providers And Laboratory Staff. Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Role.
