  1. Greeting and welcoming patients and their families to the University of Rochester with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  2. Providing exceptional customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and assisting with any needs or accommodations.
  3. Ensuring a smooth registration and check-in process for patients, including verifying insurance information and collecting necessary paperwork.
  4. Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while entering patient information into the electronic medical record system.

  • Customer Service Experience: As An Outpatient Access Representative, The Ability To Provide Excellent Customer Service Is Essential. This Includes The Ability To Communicate Effectively, Handle Difficult Situations, And Maintain A Professional Demeanor At All Times.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Systems: A Strong Understanding Of Healthcare Systems, Including Insurance Plans, Medical Terminology, And Hipaa Regulations Is Necessary For This Role. This Will Enable The Representative To Accurately Schedule Appointments, Verify Insurance Coverage, And Handle Confidential Patient Information.

  • Organizational Skills: The Ability To Multitask And Stay Organized Is Crucial In A Fast-Paced Outpatient Setting. The Ideal Candidate Should Be Able To Manage A High Volume Of Patient Appointments, Schedule Follow-Up Visits, And Maintain Accurate Records.

  • Flexibility And Adaptability: As A Float Representative, The Candidate Must Be Able To Adapt To Different Clinics And Work Environments. This Requires Flexibility In Scheduling And The Ability To Quickly Learn New Processes And Procedures.

  • Computer Proficiency: The Use Of Electronic Medical Records And Scheduling Systems Is An Essential Part Of This Role. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience With Computer Programs And Be Comfortable Navigating Different Software Platforms.
