  1. Provide exceptional nursing care to patients with asthma and other pulmonary conditions.
  2. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
  4. Educate patients and their families on managing their conditions and promoting overall health and wellness.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  6. Document patient information accurately and thoroughly.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  8. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
  9. Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, addressing any concerns or needs they may have.
  10. Continuously assess and improve upon nursing skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities.
  11. Act as a mentor and resource for other nursing staff members.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  13. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  14. Remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.

Job Qualifications

  • Active Rn License In The State Of New York: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid And Current Registered Nurse License In The State Of New York To Be Eligible For The Position.

  • Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (Bsn) Degree: A Bsn Degree Is Preferred For This Role, As It Demonstrates A Higher Level Of Education And Training In The Field Of Nursing.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Asthma And Pulmonary Care: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, With A Focus On Asthma And Pulmonary Care.

  • Certification In Asthma And Pulmonary Nursing: Candidates Who Hold A Certification In Asthma And Pulmonary Nursing, Such As The Certified Asthma Educator (Ae-C) Or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (Cpft), Will Be Given Preference.

  • Strong Communication And Patient Education Skills: As A Level Ii Registered Nurse At The Mary Parkes Asthma And Pulmonary Center, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Providing Education And Support To Patients With Chronic Respiratory Conditions. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Patient Education Skills Are Essential For This Role.
