
Inpatient NICU/Pediatric Occupational Therapist

- Conduct occupational therapy assessments to determine the needs of pediatric patients in the NICU and pediatric units.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to help children improve their motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients.
- Educate and train parents and caregivers on strategies to support their child's progress and development.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate updates with the medical team.
- Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Stay up-to-date with latest research and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced therapists and students.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, including maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Act as an advocate for pediatric patients and their families, ensuring their needs are heard and addressed.
- Collaborate with community resources and organizations to enhance patient care and support services.
- Complete all required documentation and administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Continuously strive for professional growth and development through ongoing education and training opportunities.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Occupational Therapy From An Accredited Program.
Current State License Or Ability To Obtain Licensure In New York.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In An Inpatient Nicu Or Pediatric Setting.
Knowledge And Proficiency In Assessing And Treating A Wide Range Of Pediatric Diagnoses, Including Developmental Delays, Sensory Processing Disorders, And Neurological Conditions.
Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work As Part Of A Multidisciplinary Team To Develop And Implement Individualized Treatment Plans For Patients.
