  1. Serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking access to healthcare services, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all interactions.
  2. Gather and accurately record patient information, including demographic and insurance information, to ensure timely and efficient service.
  3. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members to coordinate patient care and facilitate access to services.
  4. Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and prioritize appointments based on urgency and availability.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare facilities to coordinate patient transfers and referrals.
  6. Maintain a thorough understanding of insurance plans and coverage to assist patients in navigating the payment process.
  7. Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  8. Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner, escalating issues as necessary.
  9. Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers to facilitate open communication and ensure a positive patient experience.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of patient access services.
  11. Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient confidentiality.
  12. Participate in training and educational opportunities to maintain and improve knowledge and skills.
  13. Serve as a positive and supportive team member, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  14. Contribute to the overall mission of the University of Rochester to provide exceptional healthcare services to the community.
