- Provide leadership and support to the Speech Pathology department in achieving its mission of providing exceptional speech therapy services to students.
- Collaborate with the Director and other team members to develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
- Supervise and mentor speech pathologists, ensuring high quality therapy services are delivered to students.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of speech pathologists, providing feedback and support for professional growth and development.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of therapy sessions to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new speech pathologists.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other departments, organizations, and professionals to promote the department and its services.
- Stay up-to-date with current research, trends, and best practices in the field of speech pathology.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and manage the department's budget.
- Assist with the development and implementation of departmental marketing and outreach efforts.
- Serve as a resource for students, families, and other stakeholders regarding speech therapy services and resources.
- Lead and participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of department operations and student progress.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the overall growth and success of the department.
Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: A Candidate For The Asst Director, Speech Pathology Job At University Of Rochester Should Possess A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology Or A Related Field From An Accredited University.
Asha Certification: The Candidate Should Hold A Certificate Of Clinical Competence (Ccc) From The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (Asha) To Demonstrate Their Competency In The Field Of Speech-Language Pathology.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Clinical Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience Working As A Speech-Language Pathologist, With A Strong Background In Diagnosing And Treating Communication Disorders In Both Pediatric And Adult Populations.
Leadership And Managerial Experience: The Asst Director, Speech Pathology Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Speech-Language Pathologists And Other Staff Members. Therefore, It Is Important For The Candidate To Have Prior Experience In A Leadership Or Managerial Role.
