
Assistant Coach

As an Assistant Coach, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our student-athletes, providing guidance and support both on and off the field. - Provide guidance and support to student-athletes both on and off the field.
- Assist the head coach in developing training programs and game strategies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to create a cohesive and successful team.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings, practices, and games.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and other members of the athletics department.
- Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of NCAA rules and regulations and ensure compliance.
- Help identify and recruit talented student-athletes to join the program.
- Provide individualized coaching and feedback to help student-athletes improve their skills.
- Assist with organizing and coordinating team travel and logistics.
- Serve as a role model for student-athletes and uphold the values and standards of the athletics department.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve coaching skills.
- Collaborate with the athletic training staff to ensure the health and safety of student-athletes.
- Other duties as assigned by the head coach or athletic department.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field: The University Of Rochester Requires All Assistant Coaches To Have At Least A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Sports Science, Physical Education, Or Kinesiology. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Solid Foundation In The Principles And Techniques Of Coaching.
Previous Coaching Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience Coaching At The High School Or Collegiate Level. This Demonstrates Their Ability To Lead And Motivate A Team, As Well As Their Knowledge Of The Sport And Its Rules.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Assistant Coach At The University Of Rochester, Candidates Will Be Working Closely With Student-Athletes, Other Coaches, And The Athletic Department. Therefore, Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For Building Positive Relationships And Promoting Team Cohesion.
Knowledge Of Ncaa Regulations: The University Of Rochester Is A Member Of The Ncaa, And Adherence To Its Rules And Regulations Is Essential. Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Ncaa Guidelines, Eligibility Requirements, And Recruiting Processes.
Cpr And First Aid Certification: The Safety And Well-Being Of Student-Athletes Is A Top Priority At The University Of Rochester. Assistant Coaches Are Expected To Have Current Cpr And First Aid Certification To Be Able To Handle Any Potential Emergencies Or Injuries That May Occur During Practices Or Games.
