
Academic Advisor I

- Meet with students individually to provide academic advising and support, including course selection, degree planning, and goal setting.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the University's academic policies, procedures, and degree requirements.
- Stay updated on changes to curriculum, course offerings, and academic programs in order to provide accurate and relevant advice to students.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff members to identify and address academic concerns and challenges faced by students.
- Utilize various resources and tools to help students explore academic and career options and make informed decisions.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of student appointments, notes, and progress towards degree completion.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in academic advising.
- Serve as a resource and referral point for students seeking additional support services, such as tutoring, counseling, or disability accommodations.
- Assist in the planning and execution of academic events, workshops, and orientation programs for new and current students.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the academic advising program through participation in team meetings and offering suggestions for process enhancements.
Bachelor's Degree In Education, Counseling, Psychology, Or A Related Field
1-2 Years Of Experience In Academic Advising Or Student Support Services
