Doctoral Degree In Counseling Or Related Field: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Doctoral Degree In Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Or A Related Field. This Advanced Degree Demonstrates A High Level Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Field Of Counseling, Which Is Necessary For Teaching And Mentoring Students In A Clinical Mental Health Program.
Clinical Experience In Mental Health Counseling: The Assistant Professor Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In The Mental Health Counseling Field. This Experience Will Provide A Strong Foundation For Teaching And Supervising Students In A Clinical Setting, As Well As Conducting Research And Publishing In The Field.
Teaching Experience In Higher Education: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Teaching At The College Or University Level, Preferably In A Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Effectively Deliver Course Material, Facilitate Discussions, And Assess Student Learning.
Published Research In The Field Of Counseling: The Assistant Professor Should Have A Record Of Published Research In The Field Of Counseling, With A Focus On Clinical Mental Health. This Demonstrates The Candidate's Commitment To Advancing The Field Through Scholarly Contributions And Adds To The Prestige And Reputation Of The University.
Licensure Or Certification In Counseling: The Ideal Candidate Should Hold A Current, Active License Or Certification In Counseling, Preferably In The State Of North Carolina.
