
Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts/NIL
We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious individual to join our team as the Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts/NIL at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. In this role, you will play a crucial part in securing major gifts and maximizing opportunities under the new Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) policies for our student-athletes. - Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure major gifts for the athletic department, with a focus on maximizing opportunities under the new NIL policies.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential donors, including alumni, boosters, and community members, to secure major gifts and support for the athletic program.
- Collaborate with university administration and athletic department staff to identify and prioritize fundraising needs and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of major gift prospects, including conducting research, building relationships, and soliciting donations.
- Stay informed on the evolving landscape of college athletics, including changes to NIL policies, and use this knowledge to inform fundraising strategies.
- Work closely with coaches and student-athletes to educate them on fundraising and the potential benefits of the NIL policies.
- Plan and execute fundraising events and initiatives to engage donors and promote the athletic program.
- Manage and track donor information and gifts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop materials and messaging that effectively communicate the impact of donations and the importance of the athletic program.
- Serve as a passionate and enthusiastic ambassador for the athletic department and the university, promoting its mission and values to potential donors and the community.
- Stay up-to-date on fundraising best practices and participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve fundraising efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Bachelor’s Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Sports Management, Business Administration, Or Marketing.
At Least 5 Years Of Experience In Fundraising And Major Gift Solicitation, Preferably In A Collegiate Athletics Setting.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Ncaa Rules And Regulations, Particularly Related To Name, Image, And Likeness (Nil).
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build Relationships And Engage With High-Level Donors, Alumni, And Other Stakeholders.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Securing Major Gifts And Cultivating Donor Relationships, With A Focus On Developing New Revenue Streams For The Athletics Department.
