The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking Adjunct/Part Time Faculty to join our dynamic and diverse Theatre Department.   1. Teach and educate students in the field of theatre, focusing on inspiring and developing their passion for the performing arts.
  2. Utilize your extensive experience and expertise in theatre to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
  3. Collaborate with fellow faculty members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students.
  4. Design and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to the diverse learning styles of students.
  5. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, exams, and class participation, providing constructive feedback to aid in their growth and development.
  6. Stay updated on current trends and developments in theatre and incorporate them into the curriculum to ensure students are exposed to the latest industry practices.
  7. Serve as a mentor and role model for students, offering guidance and support in their academic and personal pursuits.
  8. Communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
  9. Attend faculty meetings and participate in departmental events and initiatives to contribute to the overall success of the Theatre Department.
  10. Adhere to university policies and procedures, including maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance.
  11. Continuously reflect on and improve teaching methods to enhance the learning experience for students.
  12. Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity, promoting a safe and welcoming space for all students.
  13. Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of students, promoting the Theatre Department and the university as a whole.
  14. Embody the values and mission of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in all aspects of the role.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Theatre Or A Related Field, Preferably With A Specialization In A Specific Area Of Theatre (Such As Acting, Directing, Or Design).

  • At Least 3 Years Of Experience Teaching At The College Or University Level, With A Demonstrated Ability To Effectively Engage And Instruct Students From Diverse Backgrounds.

  • A Strong Portfolio Or Body Of Work In The Theatre Industry, Showcasing Expertise And Experience In The Chosen Area Of Specialization.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Other Faculty Members And Staff.

  • A Passion For Teaching And A Commitment To Creating A Dynamic And Inclusive Learning Environment For Students, With A Willingness To Participate In Departmental Activities And Events.
