If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Adjunct/Part-Time Faculty in American Studies at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.As an Adjunct/Part-Time Faculty member, you will have the opportunity to shape and inspire the minds of our students through engaging and thought-provoking courses in American Studies. Your role will be vital in cultivating a diverse and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and promotes a deeper understanding of American society.To qualify for this position, you must hold a Master's or PhD in American Studies or a related field. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in interdisciplinary research and teaching, as well as a commitment to excellence in education.   1. Develop and teach engaging and thought-provoking courses in American Studies to undergraduate and graduate students.
  2. Create a diverse and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and promotes a deeper understanding of American society.
  3. Cultivate a strong understanding of American history, culture, and society in students through innovative and interactive teaching methods.
  4. Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement curriculum and course materials that align with the department's goals and objectives.
  5. Stay updated on current research and developments in the field of American Studies and incorporate them into course content.
  6. Provide mentorship and support to students, including advising on academic and career goals.
  7. Encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary research and collaboration among students and faculty.
  8. Participate in departmental meetings and events, including faculty workshops and conferences.
  9. Contribute to the overall academic community by actively engaging in service and professional development opportunities.
  10. Maintain regular office hours and be available to students for academic support and guidance.
  11. Foster a positive and respectful learning environment by adhering to university policies and promoting inclusive and ethical practices.
  12. Meet all deadlines and expectations set by the department and university administration.
  13. Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of students, including attending recruitment events and providing academic advising.
  14. Serve as a positive and professional representative of the University of North Carolina, Charlotte and the American Studies department.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In American Studies Or A Related Field.

  • Previous Teaching Experience, Preferably At The College Or University Level.

  • Strong Knowledge And Expertise In A Range Of American Studies Topics, Including American History, Literature, Culture, And Society.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage And Connect With Students From Diverse Backgrounds.
