Job Description

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic individual looking for an exciting opportunity to support the University of Nevada's athletics program? Look no further! The Nevada Athletics department is currently seeking Student Workers - Game Day Workers to join our team for the upcoming sports season. As a Game Day Worker, you will play an essential role in creating a memorable experience for our fans and athletes. If you have a passion for sports, a strong work ethic, and a desire to be part of a winning team, we want to hear from you!

  1. Assist with game day operations and logistics, including setting up and breaking down equipment, managing crowds, and ensuring a smooth flow of events.
  2. Provide excellent customer service to fans and guests by answering questions, addressing concerns, and creating a positive and welcoming environment.
  3. Usher and monitor seating areas, ensuring compliance with stadium policies and maintaining a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
  4. Support coaches and athletes by assisting with equipment, supplies, and other game day needs.
  5. Collaborate with other game day workers and staff to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  6. Maintain a professional and friendly attitude at all times, representing the University of Nevada and the athletics department in a positive manner.
  7. Perform various tasks as assigned, including but not limited to ticket scanning, merchandise sales, and event set-up and breakdown.
  8. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including but not limited to COVID-19 guidelines and regulations.
  9. Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay up-to-date on game day procedures and any changes or updates.
  10. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and take initiative to assist with any additional tasks or projects as needed.
  11. Uphold the values and mission of the University of Nevada and the athletics department in all interactions and responsibilities.

  • Knowledge Of Sports: A Good Understanding And Knowledge Of Various Sports, Particularly Those Played At The University Of Nevada, Is Necessary For This Role. This Includes Understanding The Rules And Regulations Of The Game And Being Able To Communicate These To Fans And Guests.

  • Customer Service Skills: Game Day Workers Are Responsible For Providing Excellent Customer Service To Fans, Guests, And Other Staff Members. This Requires Strong Communication Skills, A Friendly And Approachable Demeanor, And The Ability To Handle Difficult Situations With Professionalism.

  • Availability: Game Days Can Often Fall On Weekends And Evenings, So It Is Important For Student Workers To Have A Flexible Schedule And Be Available To Work During These Times.

  • Team Player: Working As A Game Day Worker For Nevada Athletics Requires Being A Team Player And Being Able To Work Collaboratively With Other Staff Members To Ensure A Smooth And Successful Game Day Experience For All Involved. This Includes Being Able To Take Direction And Contribute To The Overall Team Effort.
