  1. Greet and welcome residents and guests at the community desk in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Serve as the first point of contact for residents and guests, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns.
  3. Assist with checking in and checking out residents, ensuring all necessary paperwork and keys are properly collected and returned.
  4. Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the community desk area, including the lobby and mailroom.
  5. Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Collaborate with other community desk attendants and residence hall staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  7. Handle confidential information and maintain the security of the community desk and residence hall.
  8. Assist with distributing and tracking mail and packages for residents.
  9. Maintain accurate records and reports of desk activities, including resident sign-ins and maintenance requests.
  10. Enforce residence hall policies and regulations to maintain a safe and respectful community environment.
  11. Attend trainings and meetings as required by the university to stay updated on policies and procedures.
  12. Act as a resource for residents, providing information and referrals to appropriate resources on campus.
  13. Serve as a positive role model for residents and uphold the values of the university.
  14. Assist with special projects and events as assigned by the residence hall staff.
  15. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks: As A Community Desk Attendant, The Student Worker Will Be Required To Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously, Such As Answering Phones, Responding To Emails, And Managing Resident Requests. Therefore, The Candidate Should Have The Ability To Prioritize And Manage Their Time Effectively.

  • Knowledge Of Residence Hall Policies: The Student Worker Should Have A Good Understanding Of The Residence Hall Rules And Policies To Ensure The Safety And Well-Being Of All Residents.

  • Dependability And Reliability: The Candidate Should Be Dependable And Able To Work Independently As Well As Part Of A Team. They Should Also Be Able To Follow Schedules And Adhere To The Assigned Shifts.

  • Familiarity With Basic Computer Skills: Basic Knowledge Of Computer Applications Such As Microsoft Office And Email Is Necessary For This Position. The Candidate Should Also Be Comfortable With Using The Residence Hall's Electronic Check-In System And Managing Online Reservation Requests.
