Student X-Ray Technician

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is looking for an experienced Student X-Ray Technician to join our team. We are looking for a highly motivated and reliable individual with the knowledge and experience to safely and efficiently operate x-ray equipment.The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and should have completed a formal radiologic technician training program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). A current X-Ray Technician license and certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is preferred. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and be committed to providing excellent patient care. Previous experience in an operating room or hospital setting is a plus.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate and maintain x-ray equipment in accordance with safety protocols and established guidelines.
2. Prepare patients for x-ray procedures by positioning them accurately and safely.
3. Educate patients on x-ray procedures and answer any questions they may have.
4. Prepare x-ray films for review by physicians.
5. Monitor radiation exposure levels to ensure safety of patients and personnel.
6. Maintain accurate patient records and x-ray films.
7. Assist in training and orienting new staff on the use of x-ray equipment.
8. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
9. Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients and staff.
10. Follow all safety regulations and protocols.
