Professional Counselor - Pediatrics

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is searching for a compassionate and dedicated Professional Counselor – Pediatrics to join our team. In this role, you will provide mental health counseling services to pediatric patients and their families. You will work collaboratively alongside a team of medical professionals to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.To be successful in this role, you must possess a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field, and be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Mississippi. You will also need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Previous experience working with pediatric patients and families in a clinical setting is highly preferred. Responsibilities:

1. Provide mental health counseling services to pediatric patients and their families.
2. Work collaboratively with a team of medical professionals to ensure the best possible care.

4. Maintain a valid license or license-eligibility in the state of Mississippi.
5. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches and techniques to meet individual patient needs.
6. Develop treatment plans and monitor progress of clients.
7. Document all patient interactions and treatment plans in patient records.
8. Provide support and guidance to patients and families.
9. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals.
10. Stay up to date with the latest developments in the mental health field.
