Mental Health Technician

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is looking for an experienced and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be patient-oriented and have a strong interest in mental health and patient care. Our Mental Health Technician will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional. The successful candidate must have a passion for helping others and the ability to work in a team environment. Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
2. Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the mental health professional.
4. Assist with developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
5. Monitor patient progress and behavior and report changes to the mental health professional.
6. Assist in behavioral management and crisis intervention as needed.
7. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
8. Participate in educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments in mental health.
9. Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team.
10. Provide emotional support and a listening ear to patients.
