
Mental Health Technician
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is looking for an experienced and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be patient-oriented and have a strong interest in mental health and patient care. Our Mental Health Technician will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional. The successful candidate must have a passion for helping others and the ability to work in a team environment. Minimum qualifications include:• High School diploma or GED• Mental health clinical experience in a health care setting• Basic understanding of mental health treatment and disorders• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure• Ability to work on a flexible schedule
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
- Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the mental health professional.
- Assist with developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor patient progress and behavior and report changes to the mental health professional.
- Assist in behavioral management and crisis intervention as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments in mental health.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team.
- Provide emotional support and a listening ear to patients.
