
IT Help Desk Technician
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is looking for an experienced, highly motivated IT Help Desk Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service, a commitment to problem-solving, and a strong technical knowledge base. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our customers and colleagues via telephone, email, and walk-in visits. The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. In addition, you should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Help Desk or IT support role, excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Office Suites. Knowledge of computer hardware components and networking technologies is also essential. We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology, customer service, and making a difference in the lives of our customers. Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance and support to customers and colleagues via telephone, email, and walk-in visits.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with users.
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor and respond to customer requests via the help desk ticket system.
- Install and configure hardware and software systems.
- Manage and maintain user accounts.
- Research and implement new technologies and tools.
- Provide technical advice and support to colleagues.
- Follow established procedures for help desk service requests.
- Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming technology trends.
